Howdy Board!
We had a lovely meeting last week and our plans for bike month are shaping up. The events committee will meet tomorrow, 7pm, at Panera Bread in Suncrest. We need help with the following events and plans:
April 17th Bike Month Proclamation (mostly just need people to show up) May 4th Bike to School Day (maybe, but we could also postpone this until after bike rodeo?) May 14-18th Bike to Work Week (promotion around town of national bike challenge) May 18th Bike to Work Day May 19th Bike Rodeo
The bike rodeo in particular will be a major event. We plan to give 125 helmets away and host it out at the Mountaineer Mall. We have big plans and lots of partners already on this, but we still need your help!
Most other events / days will look like they have in the past. Our other major goal for this meeting is to develop a "host your own bike to work day" packet. We will send this out to champions at major local employers to encourage the proliferation of commuter stations (that don't require our direct supervision or volunteer time!). It will also include promotional materials for our other events.

Also, I made a facebook group to reduce email on the bike board list. Check it out https://www.facebook.com/groups/MorgantownBikeBoard/. I'll send out a more formalized announcement about this later.

Friends -I'll do a bike to school event at Mountainview Elementary, but I have it listed as the 9th (Wednesday). I'll put some ideas together for activities for the day, media, etc and start spreading the word at the school next week. I'll happily take any help if offered. Any other schools that may participate? Suncrest, Vaike? Christiaan
