Bicycle Board Members, The July Bicycle Board Meeting is scheduled on 6:30 PM, July 2. Please confirm your attendance by tomorrow noon (July 2). If we won't have a quorum, the meeting will be cancelled. University Av. Corridor Study Open House 8/31 & 9/1

Please see attached flyer. The University Avenue Complete Streets Corridor Study Open House will be August 31 and September 1 10 am - 3 pm in the Mountainlair Gold Ballroom. If cyclists are going to be accommodated in the corridor, cyclists will have to show up and tell the MPO, WVU, WVDOH and contractor what we need. You can be sure motorists, real estate developers and business people will be there to get their needs met.

What I remember to be the action items are below: * Current members – Andrew Walker, Colin Dierman, and Emily Vasile should indicate their desired status as voting members * Bicycle Friendly Community Award – Application deadline 11 February 2016 * Bicycle Locker Signage – Who has the file? Chip will talk to Tom Arnold regarding the new location for the locker * Mon. Blvd Climbing Lane – Jing will clarify DOH’s position; Drew and Jonathan Nellis will attempt to drum up support at WVU * Confident City Cycling Courses – Jing is heading up the compilation of two lists --> potential instructors and newbies to cycling. Everyone should send any potential candidates for these classes to him. * SLM / BMUFL – Damien and Derek will work together to allocate all funds and complete the plan * Parking Rings – Damien may know what happened to the one that is missing from recent construction and will be the one to decide on installation date for remaining rings (3) Finally, if there are any more agenda items you can identify, please send them to me before the end of the day and I will send out a finalized agenda for next week. Hi folks, I've been talking with Chet Parsons lately, who has been involved with the Bike Board previously (as a Member?), and I would like to deliver our Bike Board Route mapping files, so he can take a look at them to help with a potential GIS analysis and suitability project he's pursuing through work that may also lead to a mobile app. He stated that if the project is landed and a mobile app is developed, he'd love to try to bring that back to Morgantown and evaluate it's functionality here. I hope what I can dig up will be valuable for him. *Does anyone have any concerns about delivering the Bike Route data to him?* *I only see a win-win situation with a potential synergistic effect,* and it's also got my gears turning a bit for some things I've been thinking about for a while. I'm just beginning to think about a framework for establishing bike routes for a project at work and was trying to remember if the Bike Board came up with any criteria when we put together the mapping. I know it was loosely based on old paper maps that someone sketched out. I'd like to end up with some kind of a matrix that can be used to classify different corridors based on how friendly or un-friendly they are to bike use and eventually come up with a recommendation for bike routes.
