Snow is not an excuse, ride your bike.
I've heard that you can flatten your tire, wrap a rope around it between each spoke, tie it off, pump the tire and viola you have 'chains' on your bike tire. I suspect it'll only work on MTB with disc wheels though, since the rope is going to be in the way of rim brakes.
