Charlottesville mApp

I briefly mentioned the Android/iPhone App that Charlottesville's-Albemarle MPO used to collect data. http://www.tjpdc.org/cvillebikemapp/ They are now following up with a survey <http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/RDPBQHV>. In their progress report <http://www.tjpdc.org/CvilleBikeMapp/pdf/Cville%20Bike%20mApp%20Progress%20R…> they mention that participants may be eligible for prizes if they record 10 trips. I wonder if that skewed results? It’s been a little over two weeks since we launched Cville Bike mApp and a lot has happened. We have collected data, lots of it. As of May 2 and , we have collected 56,576 data points, for 853 trips from 113 users, and those numbers are continuing to climb. We are hoping to have 1,500 total trips recorded by the end of the recording period. Anyways, It may be fruitful to find out how successful their data collection initiative has been up to this point. -Jonathan

Hope to see you all there! ************** September Bike Board Meeting September 5, 2013 6:30pm - Morgantown Public Safety Building Open Action Items 197. Reconvene former BB workgroup to look at previous bike map to help Jing in his mapping project. 216. Chip, Frank, Gunnar will reconvene parking committee to place one remaining bike loop. 221. Damien will email the Suncrest sign graphic to the Bike Board (BB) 222. Gunnar will add ‘Broadening Bike Board Positions’ to September agenda 223. Traci will find out if any WVU sustainability interns are interested in serving on the BB 224. Damien will organize a meeting between city officials and BB to discuss the Law & Order article that will include Damien, someone from the city manager’s office, the police chief, Chip, Gunnar, and Traci 225. Damien will double-check that Jeff Mikorski is okay with the BB creating its Bike Friendly Business (BFB)designation 226. Frank will forward his email that includes recommendations about rail trail entry safety issues to Bill Kawecki 227. Chip and Emily will get a revised BFB sticker designed and email it to the BB for comment 228.
