Jeff: just following up from our last meeting, September. TC asked what is happening on the Bike Lane for Mon Blvd. The answer seems to be that it has been stuck in City Hall for a couple of years!
I believe this passed Traffic Commission in about 2009, was passed by council, was approved by DoH, was funded by DoH and City. Meetings with DoH were completed maybe in 2011 that ended awaiting the City to finish an agreement with WVU on operation of the lane during basketball games. WVU has agreed in writing several times as I recall but the City apparently has not completed its part of the plan and submitted it to DoH. I think, the City agreed to do the signage for the lane but it has never happened.
Can we get this off of someone's desk and get it moving?
Last Fall we were told OK but "it is now too late in the year to do it."
It is now a year later and agreement is still not done and sent to DoH and the signage has not been installed.
Please?
thanks... Roy Nutter Chair, Morgantown Traffic Commission
