Thanks, I found Evansdlae in the first line of the second paragraph on page 4 and changed it to Evansdale. You had me looking up whether buses should be busses;)
There have been bike/car collisions on that shoulder. Geffrey Moy was one. I know he collected insurance from it; he told me there was a police report and he has a copy of it. Without looking he thought it was Feb '03
I'll get right on that: ask the police for complete report of accidents on Mon Blvd. shoulders.
Don't forget about game traffic. Basketball is on that road, and football also uses it.
What changes would you recommend I make to the grant application?
Not sure what "ridership" means, but there's more than 60 cyclists in Morgantown. The Wednesday night ride has seen more than 30 at its peak, and WVU Cycling has more than 50 members. Then you have Morgantown multisport, which is like 200 members?
Ridership is the number of cyclists riding their bikes to work: B08301. MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION TO WORK - Universe: WORKERS 16 YEARS AND OVER. Data Set: 2005-2009 American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates; Morgantown city; Morgantown, WV Metro Area; West Virginia
Additional funding includes volunteer labor?
Yes, but WVDOH won't allow volunteer labor to install the bike lane. However, volunteer labor would be useful for the measurement activity for which, BTW the stated budget does not include funds. I will need to add that. Thanks!
Does a bike lane encourage pedestrians? I'd think additional people would be inclined to walk that as its more direct for some than walking via Univ Ave.
Good point. Any idea how much increase? From? To?

Bicycle Board Members,
Attached is a rudimentary application for a grant to support the Mon Blvd. bicycle climbing lane.
I could use some help determining how many cyclists currently ride that shoulder, estimating the impact of the bike lane and then how to measure it. See sections 2d and 3. If you have any ideas, I'd appreciate your sharing them with me. No hurry. The deadline for this isn't until April but hey, it's raining outside now but I plan to be riding then.
Thanks!
Frank
