Frank, et al, I'd be happy to offer any help I can from Positive Spin which would include video presentation, class presentation, practice bikes and riding course materials (markers, signs, etc). We could structure it like we've done our Safe Routes classes where we set up a practice course for the kids to ride in the main area of the parking lot and have an area to the side for first-time riders who are learning to balance on 2 wheels. I have this described in a proposal that we usually send out to the schools where we do the classes. I would recommend that if it's for grade school ages (7-10 years) we do it inside the gym. If there's adequate interest and volunteers we could have a skills course outdoors for older kids. The video and class material are pretty much the same for all ages up to high school, since most kids haven't had it. If anyone else on the board is interested in working together on this I'd be happy to go to SPAN with you on it. My goal for Positive Spin is to get this material into all schools eventually and this would be a good way to start. Btw Who is Paul (from SPAN)? Bicycle Board Members, I would like to add Christiaan Abildso to bikeboard(a)cheat.org. Currently, bikeboard(a)cheat.org only includes all past and present Bicycle Board members. Christiaan is Chairman of the Morgantown Pedestrian Safety Board. The PSB and BB have many common interests and collaboration opportunities.
