Agenda for Thursday's BB meeting

Bicycle Board Members, Please find attached, a suggested agenda for our Thursday, March 1 meeting. Please reply if you want any changes. One topic on the agenda is Hugh's replacement. If you know anyone that would like to serve on the BB, please point them to our Procedural Guidelines at http://bikemorgantown.com/bikeboard.php and invite them to come to the meeting to meet everyone and to explain why they would like to be a member. So far, I think Billy Yahner and Traci Liebig are candidates. Frank D. Bicycle Board Members, Terrence just called me to inform me that City Council has directed him to restrict the agenda for next Tuesday's meeting of the Committee of the Whole to budget matters only so he's moving the Bicycle Plan presentation to the March 27 COW meeting. Bicycle Board Members, At the February Traffic Commission meeting, Commissioner Paul Steele who represents second ward said the South Park Association of Neighbors (SPAN) would like to conduct a "bicycle safety program". As you can see by the dialog below, he has invited me to attend their March meeting to discuss it. WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND? As you can also see from the dialog below, I have asked Paul for more info. Jonathan, Do you think I should e-mail the link, http://db.tt/2NaSlSZ4 to all the Councilors? That wasn't my plan because Terrence didn't want to do that. I was hoping each of the BB members would contact their Councilor and provide and discuss the plan. I did so with my Councilor, Bill Byrne. I don't know if it's scheduled. Terrence told me it was scheduled for the 2/28 COW but the schedule is not published at http://www.morgantown.com/council-docs.htm for that meeting. I spoke with City Clerk Linda Little this morning and she told me that the agenda for next Tuesday won't be finalized until this Thursday afternoon. The reason I mention this is that I had understood that I was on the agenda for the 1/31 COW and only found out 1/26 when I requested the City Manager's Administrative Assistant to make copies of my presentation that I wasn't on the agenda. Bicycle Board Members, Please see below, Hugh's resignation from the Bicycle Board. Hugh has made many great contributions including bike parking around WVU campus, Share the Road signs around campus, Mountaineer Station, bike parking around town, acting on the BB's behalf for the Mon Blvd. bicycle climbing lane, advocating for cyclists as a member of the MPO Citizens Advisory Committee, establishing bicycling education at WVU (we currently have 31 people enrolled for this semester's cycling classes) and as WVU Director of Transportation and Parking, advocating bicycling to both the University and the City. I personally am very grateful for his contributions and am especially thankful that he will continue to support us. I have e-mailed Traci info about the BB and asking if she wants to join us.
