MPO presentation

Bicycle Board Members, At the last Bicycle Board Meeting, I took an action item to create slides that describe the Bicycle Board for this month's MPO conference. Such slides are now 30-41 of the presentation. I do not intend to present those slides at the conference but they are in the the notes view of the presentation that is now available on BikeMorgantown.com at http://bikemorgantown.com/articles.php?str=2010/09/accommodating-bicyles-pr… and on the conference website at Accomodating Bicycles . The deadline for submitting the presentation was Monday 10/11 so I didn't have time to run it by you however, I will try to make any changes that you give me. Nick's proposal

Bicycle Board Members, I just received the attached file from Nick Hein as completion of his action item "107. Prepare a detailed proposal of the Youth Bicycle Education plan, including an outline of class design and the detailed actions that the BB will be expected to take." He wants to discuss it at tonight's meeting. Since the agenda is already full, when we discuss the agenda as topic 2 of the meeting we can decide how and when to deal with it. My inclination is to put it on the agenda for our November meeting. At least, you could familiarize yourself with it before tonight's meeting. Frank

The conference begins at 10:00a.m. on October 26th, with registration from 8:00a.m. to 10:00a.m. that morning. The agenda and announcement for the conference is attached. > > As mentioned in the announcement, a cookout will be held at Marilla Park at 6:00p.m. on October 27th. The cost for the cookout is $10/person (kids are free). For those who would like to participate, a guided bike ride via the Deckers Creek Trail and local roads is scheduled from the hotel to Marilla Park. You may bring your own bike, or rent one from Wamsley Cycles in Morgantown. The contact information for Wamsley Cycles is in the attached announcement. > > If you would like to participate in the bike ride, please email me to let me know ASAP, as we are trying to get an estimate for how many people are planning to participate. The site assessment breakout session will be a walking tour conducted by Dr. Ron Eck with WVU and will cover areas around the hotel. The mobile lab and site assessment are each limited to about 26 participants. If you would like to attend either of these, you may sign up when you register at the conference.
