Friends of the Appalachian Mountains,
Here are some big upcoming events and conferences to help stop mountaintop removal coal mining in Appalachia and combat the impacts of climate change - our movement continues to grow and spread and we are now working with allies all across the country.

------------------------------ This weekend - Oct 7-9 The Heartwood Reunion, Paoli IN. Workshops, speakers and entertainment in a lovely wooded setting in southern Indiana, about one hour from Louisville. Great food - wonderful place - highly recommended. ------------------------------ Also this weekend - Oct 7-9 The Changing of the Leaves Festival atop Larry Gibson's famous Kayford Mountain near Charleston West Virginia. This is a free event - See mountaintop removal at Ground Zero and hear good old mountain music. Potluck dinner and camping.
