Was that meant as an understatement Beth, it is dirtier than coal when all the studies are completed sometime in the next few years, why is it taking so long for EPA to act to curb methane releases, drilling waste, fracking fluid et al?????? JB

Natural gas is not clean energy.

Findings show carbon pollution from power plants can be cut cost-effectively by using wind, solar and natural gas. It’s less costly to get electricity from wind turbines and solar panels than coal-fired power plants when climate change costs and other health impacts are factored in, according to a new study.
A key statement from the Club is that today's carbon standards are a welcome step forward, but the limits on CO2 from natural gas plants are not tight enough. As we transition away from coal, we should not be incentivizing a whole new generation of fossil fuel plants. EPA will hold another 60-day comment period on those carbon standards, so we should prepare thoughtful and extensive comments. The study cited is useful data, but we need to go further.
