Some people who oppose wind turbines argue that they have the potential to change weather patterns because they DIMINISH the power and speed of the winds because they extract energy from those winds. ( I am not asserting that- only pointing out that for anyone who says that wind turbines increase wind speeds, there is very likely one or more someone else's who assert that wind turbines decrease wind speeds. )
"Climate change" can be manifested in variances among many kinds of meteorological measurements- including both increased and diminished air pressure and wind speeds at the same and various locations at various times, both increases and decreases in humidity and precipitation at either the same or various location at various times, and of course increased and / or decreased temperatures, depending on the varying conditions of these and other weather / climate producing phenomena at various locations and times.
I am not a meteorological expert. But I play one on television, and on the internet.

Anyone out there know of any research about whether there has been an increase in wind across the country in recent years and, if so, possible causes.
The ex of one of my wife’s friends is a cross-country truck driver. Apparently in his circles there is a belief that wind speeds have increased in recent years and there is a dialogue going on speculating as to whether it is caused by all the new “wind-mills” or climate change. I’ve been asked if I know anything about this and I don’t.
I would say anecdotally, and as a person who travels the highways a lot that I tend to agree recent years have been a bit windier.
