This article suggests that the combined imopact of efficiency and renewables has already gotten the US over half way to meeting CPP targets, and continued tax credits will likely get us there 14 years ahead of schedule.
Renewables are already cost competitive with both coal and gas,. The good news is that the solar industry already employs more people than the gas and pipeline industries combined.
Now all we have to do is to keep the fossil industry from taking us down with them as they go under.
