This company proposes to build and operate a biodiesel refinery next to the Bayer Chemical plant in New Martinsville. It would produce 20 million gallons per year of biodiesel, mostly from soybean and cottonseed oil. The draft air permit is at the link below. The major emissions would be methanol and some VOCs, but these seem pretty minimal. My main concern is that the monitoring requirements are pretty vague and may be unenforceable.

Does anyone know of other potential emissions from such a plant? Is this something we should support?
