The new "mining permit (actually for coal ash disposal) is for 337.62 acres for a Coal Refuse Disposal Area under Permit O200709 and is the one we mentioned often in the DC fly in. They are planning to use it as a flyash dump for 35 yrs and permitting it under smcra even though they explicitly stated in their application that no mining will occur (go figure!).
We're going to need to get the word out for a lot of people to attend and give comments at the meeting. I'm sure the "other side" will be out in full force. - petra
