Hello, Friends!
Please join us in welcoming Charleston-based Dan Heyman, as in "Hey, man..." to the WVNS team. You may not know that we've had to pry West Virginia out of Deb and Eric's hands becuase they really love working with you all!
Dan is eager to get to know you all and your issues, and many of you may already know him. Our thanks to Steve White for making the connection.
Dan's excited about the challenge of reporting on the environment, education, legislative issues and other topics he's been passionate about for years.
After working for public broadcasting stations in West Virginia and Virginia for a decade, Dan has been freelancing for NPR, BBC, VOA, CBC, BBC Wales, PRI and Radio New Zealand among others. As a print reporter he's written stories for The Dallas Morning News, The Associated Press and numerous magazines. He is the West Virginia stringer for the New York Times.
When not writing journalism, Dan is likely to be writing fiction. He's working on a novel, his third, and trying to interest theater companies in a play he wrote last year. . The WVNS email, fax and toll free numbers remain the same:
