Katherine:
One action that I highly recommend is to contact your County Commission and urge them to adopt a resolution opposing the PATH line. Similar resolutions along the TrAIL line were very helpful in demonstrating early opposition to the PSC. If your Commissioners are hesitant, ask them to at least talk to County Commissioners in Hampshire, Hardy, Tucker, Preston and Monongalia Counties to learn why they signed on to such a resolution.
There will be lots of opportunities for involvement over the next year, but the next few months will be mostly a time for learning the ropes. The TrAILCo docket on the PSC web page has over 1100 items, but spending an hour or two each week reading those would be an excellent education. I am also attaching a fact sheet that we are using, feel free to circulate as widely as possible. For introductory background info, the following web addresses may be useful.

I had a call this A.M. from Katherine Kapo of So. Jackson County. She recently learned about PATH and she (along with others in her community) is interested in organizing in opposition. She attended one of the power line info meetings recently and she mentioned that the company has organized a great show of power--not surprising I guess. I've sent her a copy of SC's press release.
She would like some pointers on how to organize in her community and anything else that would be helpful. I'm thinking maybe Bill Price would have some advice for her.
Katherine's phone is Home-304-988-0009 and Cell-304-380-6686.
