WV Sierra Club Friends,
My Biomess song (previously sent to you) about the proposed power plant aka wood
incinerator in Greenfield has been picked as a Finalist and is awaiting deliberation by Sonic Bids judges for Music of the Earth 2011 Song of the Year.
Now my coal ash song about the spill in Harriman, TN is one of 5 Finalists that has been nominated for Song of the Year for Social Action by Independent Musicians Awards. This is the second year in a row that I am a Finalist with IMA. Last year’s song was about the cancers at the nuclear weapons plant in Paducah, KY.
There are 2 winners. One has already been picked by IMA. The public is being asked to vote for the other. Can you please circulate among your state chapters and other contacts? It is great publicity for both the issue of MTR and for all the groups working to protect our air, water, mountains and those who live therein. Thx for taking the time to do this.
If you want to hear the songs and participate in the voting, go to http://www.independentmusicawards.com/imanominee/10th/Song/Social-Action Please share with anyone who might want to hear the music or be able to use it in their work.
best, Tom 413-774-2411
