*Wednesday, 10 March 2010 ** 1:00 - 4:00 PM Eastern Time**
** Description: The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is developing proposed regulations that will address the management of coal combustion byproducts (CCBs). The scope of those regulations will likely have a significant impact on the concrete masonry and hardscape industry, because fly ash is the CCB with the greatest utilization rate and is used primarily in concrete to enhance its strength and resistance to the elements. Last year the U.S. produced about 70 million tons of fly ash, of which nearly 45 percent was recycled. The regulation of CCBs as hazardous waste would have a devastating impact on the continued use of CCBs, threatening an environmentally protective and valuable industry. Please join us for this timely, relevant, and informative session led by Jim Roewer (Edison Electric Institute), who heads the Coal Combustion Byproducts Coalition, of which NCMA is a member. The first two hours of this webinar will consist of the presentation, followed by up to one hour of an interactive Q&A session. Instructor: Jim Roewer, Edison Electric Institute & Coal Combustion Byproducts Coalition
