I'm organizing a ride of 1st-5th graders from my bus stop to Mountainview ES next Friday (9/11/15) or the following Monday (9/14/15) depending on weather, interest, and availability of kids and adults.
I know we definitely have 3 kids interested and able. Here are the particulars of the route that I practiced with my 1st grade son:
2.33 miles

Duration: 24:24

Pace: 10.5 min/mi

I know I have at least 2 parents that will ride with & help lead and follow. We definitely need two more to help with potential mechanical issues, and as we cross Dorsey (twice) and lift bikes over a set of small poles in one person's side yard that are in the public right-of-way very near Marjorie Gardens.

We'll meet at 7:45am on Wagner Road near the intersection with Simpson Street to do a quick briefing about ride safety and talk about the route. I can lead that since I "speak kid language." We'd need to leave by 8:00 to allow for an 8:30 arrival (buffer of 10 minutes or so before school starts).

I do NOT plan to let the teachers, bus driver, or school administrators know until the day prior. This is just a test to see if we can/should encourage more kids to join us.

Please email me with advice and/or to help on the day of - cabildso@yahoo.com.

Thanks!
