COOL ROOFS - AN ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SOLUTION

CBS 3 - TV News (Philadelphia) featured a segment on alternative energy solutions on Aug. 3, during its 4 p.m. news.  Meteorologist Maria LaRosa discussed the environmental and economic benefits of cool roofs with EPA's Stephanie Lamster. Cool roof technology can be a boon on hot days.  The technology coats a roof surface with a reflective material that can lower a building's roof surface temperature  by up to 100 degrees Farenheit. Interior temperatures are also lowered, reducing cooling costs by up to 50 percent.
