Global warming itself is seen as a threat to human health. It could reduce water supplies and lead to more severe weather patterns like hurricanes, drought and heat waves. 

 I am pro-enviorment but must part ways with those promoting "global warming" as an issue humans must make sacrifices for. Climate change is inevitable. Over population is a greater concern. I do support most any effort to promote cleaner air and water though.
