   In accordance with the Administrative Procedures Act, the West Virginia 
Department of Environmental Protection is accepting public comments on its 
proposed legislative rule governing horizontal well development. The 30-day 
comment period begins the process of making the agency’s Emergency Rule on 
horizontal well development permanent, pending its approval by the state 
legislature as part of the DEP’s legislative rules package.
A public hearing on the proposed legislative rule has been scheduled for 6 
p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 11 in the Coopers Rock Training Room at DEP headquarters 
in Charleston, 601 57th St., S.E., Charleston, WV., 25304. Written comments can 
be sent to the DEP Public Information Office at 601, 57th St., S.E., 
Charleston, WV., 25304, or emailed to DEP.comments@wv.gov.
Written comments can be submitted until Oct. 11.
