Make Your Voice Heard - Tell the EPA You Want Strong
Regulations for Coal Combustion Waste
Coal contains toxic heavy metals such as selenium, chromium, mercury, and lead.  These heavy metals are concentrated in coal ash--ash that is often dumped in landfills or unlined ponds where it threatens water supplies.  The EPA's new, more accurate testing procedure estimates that many of these metals will leach from the waste, at levels that far exceed thresholds for hazardous waste.

The EPA is asking for your comments on proposed new regulations concerning coal ash.  Come with many others in this region to speak out in support of requiring strong federal laws regulating its disposal or further use.
