Hi Everyone,

Longview is heating up again and it is time to rally the troops!  The next regularly scheduled Mon Valley Clean Air Coalition (MVCAC) meeting on Monday October 24th 6:30 ish will really be a short letter-writing/socializing gathering at Martha and Larry Schwab's house in Suncrest (directions below).  Duane is out of town and he left me in charge.  Yep, CALP is gearing up again.

Longview has filed its transmission-line permit application with the WV Public Service Commission (PSC) and we only have until early November to write comment/protest letters and request a public hearing in Morgantown.

The letters will be short and simple.  I'll have my letter to the PSC as a sample, as well as a list of major points, so you can easily and quickly craft your own letter.

We'll have pens, paper, envelopes, stamps, and something light to eat and drink, so if you come straight from work, you won't starve.  You may want to bring your favorite pen and paper, if you have such a thing, and something hard to write on (like a clipboard or magazine or something), since there will likely not be enough table space for all of us.  Come around 6:30 if you want to eat.

If you have never been to a meeting, or haven't been for a while, this is an excellent opportunity to meet people, eat something, and do something concrete to help get rid of Longview.  Plus Larry and Martha are super-nice people and have a really cool house.

See ya there!

(PS If you are feeling e-mail fatigue, you can log into this listserv and change your settings to receive messages in digest mode (one e mail with all messages daily, if there are messages).  You'll need your name and password to do this.  These are mailed to you once per month from mailman-owner@cheat.org Thanks to Jonathan for the list!!

Directions (map below, if I can get this to work right):
Address: 3333 Collins Ferry Road, the last driveway on the left before Aspen if you are coming from Morgantown, or coming from Star City, it is the first driveway on the right past Aspen St.

To get to Collins Ferry Rd, take University Ave toward Star City.  University splits into University and Collins Ferry just past the Eckard drug store (Morgantown side) or Bi-Lo grocery store (coming from Star City)

There is a high hedge along the road, so you cannot see the house from the street.  There is a really small sign with 3333 and maybe a sign with other addresses (more than one house is on the drive).  Larry and Martha's house is the first house closest to Collins Ferry Rd (big white farm house).  Park angled against the garage, or along the driveway.

Their phone number is 598-0241.
My (Paula's) cell number is 692-7588
Please call me if you need better directions or want to carpool with someone.
