mandates that a specific video entitled “Meet Baby Olivia” ostensibly showing growth and development of a fetus as well as a high-definition ultrasound video showing early fetal development must be shown.
The “Meet Baby Olivia” video is a product of Live Action, a notorious anti-abortion group. As noted in a Dominion Post editorial, “the purpose of this video is not to educate but to indoctrinate” and is full of inaccurate and misleading content.
SB 468 conflicts with the LWVWV policy to Safeguard Equal Rights and protect reproductive freedom. SB 468 is a thinly disguised attack on that freedom by adding anti-abortion propaganda into West Virginia school curriculum.
