Lina was an active student a few years back and is now doing work with the Citizen's Climate Lobby, which advocates for a revenue-neutral carbon tax. She is interested in getting West Virginians organized on the issue. I had earlier expressed some interest, but pointed out that a carbon tax, even a revenue-neutral one, tends to disproportionately impact fossil fuel-producing states like West Virginia, and can exacerbate the transfer of wealth from poor states like West Virginia to the richer states of the northeast and west coast.

   Lina Bird here - hope things are going well this semester! It was great seeing you at the fracking conference last summer.
    I just wanted to let you know that the Citizen's Climate Lobby is hosting a conference call specifically for West Virginians - after talking to you last summer, I realized that there are specific issues in WV that weren't being addressed by the national group, and since they really want a WV chapter, we hit on the idea of having a state specific call.
