Lina was an active student a few years back and is now doing work with the Citizen's Climate Lobby, which advocates for a revenue-neutral carbon tax. She is interested in getting West Virginians organized on the issue. I had earlier expressed some interest, but pointed out that a carbon tax, even a revenue-neutral one, tends to disproportionately impact fossil fuel-producing states like West Virginia, and can exacerbate the transfer of wealth from poor states like West Virginia to the richer states of the northeast and west coast.
At any rate, please consider joining us to see where we can go from here. And please forward this invite to anyone you think might be interested.
