Think of it as rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic....because they
all are going down.
Gore's challenge is doable and we need to be part of his grass roots
movement to be sure it happens here.
We have a challenge. Thirty years after the first methane power plant
was built on a landfill, Charleston is negotiating to build one. That will
be the first one in West Virginia, one of the last States to have at least
one.
So we have a challenge to get the citizens of this State out of the
1950's
As I say in most of my talks about global warming, Quebec survived the
death of the asbestos mining industry, upon which they counted for 30% of the
provincial revenues. West Virginia can too, but it is we who must continue
to talk positively that we can and must make the transition to
renewable energy.
I am up to it.
