MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia University is bringing whistleblowers to Morgantown to discuss the role they've played in environmental issues.

A panel discussion is set for Sept. 18.

Among the panelists is Rick Plitz, a former senior associate at the U.S. Climate Change Science Program who exposed White House censorship of reports on global warming in 2005.

Also participating is Jack Spadaro, a former head of the National Mine Health and Safety Academy who reported attempts to whitewash an investigation into a Kentucky coal slurry spill.

The third panelist is Wilma Subra, a Louisiana scientist who exposed misleading statements by the Food and Drug Administration that seafood harvested in the Gulf of Mexico was safe to consume after the 2010 oil spill.
