Jim: I don't understand this ranking of 35th. I have a copy of a very recent Forbes article which ranks WV as 50th in the nation!! I've attached the article. It's based on six criteria: carbon footprint, energy consumption, water quality, air quality, wastes and state priorities. One thing very interesting about this article is that several of the top "green states" such as Maryland, New Jersey, New York etc. are states to which we will be exporting even more electricity, while we bear the environmental brunt. somehow they're getting the green status while we're paying the cost not only in the environment but in image as well.

As far as the powerlines fight is concerned, it seems like we could really make hay of this 50th ranking as a green state, while those who buy our energy get the good publicity which could be used to attract tourists, retirees, green businesses,
etc.!!
