Called distributed power, many countries purposely set their power infrastructure up in this means just because of this reason. Another item that is interesting (military channel) one reason the US stopped building nukes was because if a foreign power bombed these plants with conventional weapons or took control of these plants we would have a nuclear disaster on our hands without a nuclear bomb ever being dropped.
