I get email every day from stock market touts focused on energy
companies. With Marcellus Shale, the environmental problems are generally
mentioned as the economic downside.
At least one of these guys is now
talking about a new process called "petro-fracking" that would replace
hydro-fracking and supposedly avoid some of the problems. This process
uses oil instead of water as the basic element of the fracking fluid.
FYI: This opinion piece was forwarded to me by a high school classmate
(as an investment opportunity?). Typically for the WSJ, it completely
ignores environmental effects, concentrating instead on shale gas
development as an example of entrepreneurial bravado.
