WEBINAR INVITATIONSetting the Record Straight on Renewable Energy Cost
Dear Paul,
Fact: Renewable energy is providing affordable electricity across the country right now. And it is getting even cheaper.
Unfortunately, public understanding of the role renewables now play in supplying clean, affordable, and reliable electricity to millions of households is muddled by outdated perceptions and misleading claims at the center of misinformation campaigns funded by fossil fuel interests.
We invite you to join the Union of Concerned Scientists for a webinar exploring how you can use your expertise to effectively respond to misinformation about renewable energy cost.
Setting the Record Straight on Renewable Energy Cost
Date: Wednesday, April 3 Time: 3:00-4:00 p.m. (EDT)
Register for the Webinar Today
Featuring the following UCS staff:
-
Jeff Deyette, assistant director of energy research and senior energy analyst in the Climate & Energy Program, will examine a series of misleading studies funded by the Koch brothers at the center of a misinformation campaign targeting renewable energy requirements in more than a dozen states;
-
Laura Wisland, senior energy analyst, will explore common misperceptions about renewable energy costs, such as the claim that renewables cost significantly more than coal, natural gas, or nuclear power; and
-
David Anderson, outreach coordinator, will highlight the important role you can play in setting the record straight.
Please join us as we examine some of the top misconceptions about renewable energy cost and highlight best practices for communicating the facts.
Sincerely,
David Anderson Outreach Coordinator Climate & Energy Program
