Flood warnings issued for 3 W.Va. rivers

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Flood warnings are in effect for sections of the Cheat, Greenbrier and Tygart rivers due to melting snow and expected rain.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Flood warnings are in effect for sections of the Cheat, Greenbrier and Tygart rivers due to melting snow and expected rain.

The National Weather Service says the Cheat River is expected to exceed flood stage at Rowlesburg by Saturday morning.

The Greenbrier River is expected to rise above flood stage at Buckeye and Marlinton on Saturday and at Alderson by Sunday morning.

The Tygart River is expected to exceed flood stage at Belington and Philippi on Saturday. Moderate flooding is expected.

Small-stream flooding is possible in other parts of the state.
