The Conservation Award of the Monongahela Chapter of the Daughters of the
American Colonists was given to Duane Nichols on November 15, 2008 for
his work on the Cheat River watershed. The Award was granted at the
Morgantown Public Library after a presentation by Duane Nichols on the
regional history of the Cheat River covering the period from 1750 to the
present time.
