Frank,

I think it is a wise move to not write a letter now. While the newspaper may have hinted at some Council disgruntlement with the Manager, there is no hard evidence that this is why he has applied at other places. It is important to remember that a City Manager’s life is difficult. It’s part of the job to deal with turnover on Council’s. Dan Boroff’s long tenure was very unusual. The last statistics I saw indicated that the average City Manager position turns over about every 5 years and much shorter tenures are not unusual. Mr. Moore may simply be taking a proactive approach in his search for different opportunities.

That’s my two cents worth.

Thanks,

OK, thanks to all of you who responded including those of you who did not reply-to-all.  Summing up the feedback, I don't think we know enough facts about what's behind Terrence's leaving to take action that would benefit him and not hurt us.  So, I'm backing off from writing a letter to the editor.

Good letter, but do you really want to take a swing at City Council at the same time you are requesting funding?
