Hi there!

I can get re-engaged with the “help the City to find appropriate grants” part. Is there a meeting tomorrow?

Subject: [Bikeboard] Budget

The City's budget for 2015/2016 includes the following for bicycling:

$22,500 for the Mon Blvd. Bicycle Climbing Lane

$ 5,000 for Shared Lane Markings (Sharrows) and Bicycles May Use Full Lane (R4-11) signs

$ 8,200 for training bicycling instructors and delivering bicycling classes (the Allstate grant)

We can probably only do something significant with the $5,000 for Sharrows and BMUFL signs if we use it as the City cost share in a grant application.  We will need to help the City to find appropriate grants for which to apply and to write the applications.

Concerning the Allstate $8,200, we currently have one candidate committed to become an instructor.  We need 2 more and then the instructors need to arrange and deliver the courses.  WVU CPASS has been open to hosting the courses.

Thoughts?
