Drew,

Here are the latitude and longitude of each Bicycle Friendly Community sign location that the Bicycle Board recommended to Damien in 2012.

1.  N39° 39.069' W79° 58.891'

2.  N39° 36.605' W79° 58.165'

3.  N39° 37.800' W79° 57.544'

4.  N39° 37.483' W79° 56.770'

5.  N39° 36.668' W79° 56.996'

6.  N39° 38.342' W79° 56.217'

7.  N39° 38.810' W79° 56.066'

8.  N39° 38.521' W79° 57.018'

9.  N39° 39.588' W79° 57.804'

10. N39° 39.370' W79° 58.601'

Here’s a link to a Google map showing the locations: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1kIiLfe1xhMrYTemk5EK0K4IQVIk&usp=sharing

I believe all but 3 have been installed at approximately the above locations except the following 3:

#4.  N39° 37.483' W79° 56.770’ on East Brockway Avenue.  Damien said that Fouad didn’t want to put it there because it’s on private property.  We recommended that Fouad say where he’d like to put it near there.  We received no response.

#6.  N39° 38.342' W79° 56.217’ on Willey St.  I think that one didn’t get installed because at the time, a new apartment complex, City Gardens Apartments was being developed near there and Fouad wanted to wait and see.  Now, the apartments have been there for a few years and the recommended site still looks good to me.  What does the BB think?

#7.  N39° 38.810' W79° 56.066’ on 705 between Chestnut Ridge Rd. and the Roundabout.  Again, I think the roundabout was in process back then and Fouad again wanted to wait and see.  Again, now the roundabout’s been there for a few years and the recommended location for the BFC sign still looks good to me.  What does the BB think?

In case you can’t open the Google map, I’ve attached a screen shot of it.

Alex,

Saw this email from a while ago, but didn't see any response -- was this one of the locations DOH did not allow?

Thanks,
Drew

Hi Damien,

I wonder if Fouad would put one of the unused Bicycle Friendly Community signs on the east side of the new I-79 exit 153 interchange?  Given the traffic that will eventually see the sign, it could have a significant impact on motorists’ awareness of bicycles.  I suppose since that might be Granville property, they’d have to agree.
