Bicycle Board Members,

Next Thursday's monthly Bicycle Board meeting is cancelled.

We would have needed 8 members to have a quorum but only 7 members replied to the message below and only 5 of them said they'd come.  Nobody responded to my question, "What do you want to do at our next meeting?"  I don't know what to make of that.

Subject: April BB meeting

Bicycle Board Members,

Please reply by Friday, March 30 if you plan to attend the next regular monthly BB meeting, Thursday, April 5.  If fewer than 8 of you plan on attending, I will cancel the meeting.

Some members have indicated that they'd rather attend the Banff film festival and suggested meeting a different week.  Meeting a different week would require coordinating everyone's schedule to find a day and time that we could have a quorum and then getting a room somewhere to hold us all.  If anyone is willing to do that, please reply ASAP.

Someone also suggested we meet earlier on the regular meeting day, April 5.  Since the film festival starts at 7, we'd probably have to meet no later than 6 to get anything done.  If you reply, please indicate if you'd be able to meet at 6.

Apparently, the Banff film festival always occurs on the first Thursday of April.  Checking the April meeting minutes of the past few years, following is the number of participants that didn't show:
2011: 7
2010: 8
2009: 6
2008: 7

Although attendance was low in each of those meetings, we had a quorum and had a meeting.

Some topics that we could address at the April meeting include the following:
  1. Planning for May: National Bike Month, Bike Week, Bike to Work Day
  2. Next steps with the Bicycle Plan
  3. Grant application writing, especially for SRTS
  4. Coordinate with Pedestrian Board to improve select corridors
  5. Bike route map maintenance
  6. Unicycle recommendations to Traffic Commission
  7. Eat treats that Walker will bring

What do you want to do at our next meeting?
