Chip,

Thanks for committing to attend tomorrow's TC meeting.  I haven't heard from any other BB members.

I intend to present the following with regard to the University Av. corridor traffic study.

Follow Greater Morgantown Bicycle Plan and Bicycle Plan component of MMMPO Long Range Transportation Plan

Low-cost immediate
· Don’t waste money signing Rawley and Riverview.  They don’t need it.
· Retain off-center striping on University Av.   Make climbing side wider.
· Install Shared Lane Markings and R4-11 signs per MUTCD on University Av. from Willey to Star City
· Sign Bike Route including Law School through Oakland  St.

Intermediate term
· Install cyclist activated signal at Gilmore
· Extend Jones Av. to Law School Drive.  Sign as Bike Route.  Install stair ramp.
· Reverse one-way on Jones from Stewart St. to  Virginia St.

Long term
· Widen University Av. from Riverview to North Av.
· Install bicycle-climbing lane from Falling Run to Eight St.  – both sides of hill.

Perhaps some other BB members would have some other recommendations to improve bicycling in the University Av. corridor, especially the side-streets and possible bike routes?

I hope some other BB members will show up at least to show support.

Frank

What does the BB have to report to the TC for the BB Report portion of the meeting?

Who's going to the May 7 TC meeting?  The University Av. corridor study (see attached) should be interesting. "A designated share the road on lowe volume streets would be helpful for bicycles". WTF?  How about widening the uphill side from Riverviiew to North Av.?  Or, restoring the bike route down the Law School hill through the med parking lot and over Oakland St. A bicycle boulevard between Sunnyside and Gilmore would be nice.  Oh, and are they really making Evansdale Dr. one-way downhill to Mon Blvd. How do you spell clueless?
