Hi Traci,

Thanks for reading the attachment and for your thoughtful response to my message.  I will put the proposal on the agenda for this Thursday's BB meeting.  The desired outcome will be consensus with the proposal or recommended changes.

Unfortunately, the TC is meeting the day before.  I haven't seen the TC agenda yet but the proposal could be an item on the agenda.

Concerning the sentence that you quote, I think it could be corrected by deleting "to is".

Hi Frank and Bike Board,

In the document attached, it appears the last sentence of the second paragraph seems to be missing a few words--"The BB has similarly been working to is to make Morgantown a Bicycle Friendly Community..."

Also, this seems like a pretty big ask to the Traffic Commission. I would advocate discussing this in a BB meeting before it is brought to the that group.

Thanks,

Traci

Bicycle Board Members,

At next Wednesday's Traffic Commission meeting, Christiaan Abildso, Pedestrian Safety Board Chariman will propose to the Traffic Commission to change it to the Transportation Commission and to make the Pedestrian representative (Christiaan) and Bicycling representative (me) voting members.  We are currently ex-officio.  Attached are a memorandum that he wrote explaining this and an ordinance that defines the Transportation Commission that should replace the ordinance that defines the Traffic Commission.

We can discuss this at next week's BB meeting if you like.  If I receive no response from BB members about this message or the attachment, we will assume that the BB concurs.
