Hi Colin,

Thanks for the prompt and positive response.  I'll add your item to the flip chart so everyone can see what you want to do and can add their name if they want to help.

Alice also said she won't be at the meeting but offered two items that she will lead, with help.

So so far, the flip chart shows:

Leader Item Helpers
Alice Bike racks at schools
Alice Bicycle safety programs at schools
Colin Create single track trails in the City

Derek also informed me that he won't be at the meeting.  I think he has some items he wants to put on the list related to GIS.  I hope he'll send them to me before the meeting so I can add them to the flip chart.

We'll still have a quorum unless 4 more members don't show.

Frank

  Hey Frank,
I'll be on vaca next week and won't be at the meeting. In the Bicycle Friendly City application there was question as to  what we may have as  far as singletrack trails. I would like to put on the agenda; Creating trails in the city. There are a number of grants that are available for this to happen and the outcome i would like to see is that the bike board supports this. I know that this can help encourage younger people to ride bicycles and develop riding skills. I am interested in leading this process and have been told by other members that they would be willing to help as they can.

Thanks,

colin

Bicycle Board Members,

Since we have a holiday weekend coming up, I thought I'd get an early start on this.  Please find attached a suggested agenda for next week's Thursday (9/6) BB meeting.

Please come prepared to say what you want to do in the next 12 months to accomplish the BB's mission.  (See procedural guidelines at http://bikemorgantown.com/Docs/2011.07.12_Bicycle_Board_Procedural_Guidelines.pdf )  I'll bring flip charts and record what you say you want to do.  Then, you can ask for help and I'll record on the flip chart names of members that say they'll help you.

If you want to add anything to the agenda, please reply-to-all with your topic, the desired outcome of addressing it and the amount of time you'll need.

Off the top of my head, following are some things that will need to be done in the next 12 months.
  1. Conduct annual Bicycle Plan progress review (October)
  2. Get money to implement the Greater Morgantown Bicycle Plan
  3. Review current placement of 2 Bicycle Friendly Community road signs and arrange installation of the remaining 10 signs
  4. Replace 2 departed League Cycling Instructors
  5. Fill BB membership vacancies
  6. Continue to improve the bike route (http://bikemorgantown.com/route_map.php)
  7. Establish bicycling education program and bicycle club at Suncrest Middle School
  8. Represent the BB on the nascent Connecting Communities coalition
The meeting will start promptly at 6:30 pm.  If we do not have a quorum at 6:30 pm, I will cancel the meeting.  If you will not be there at 6:30 pm, please reply ASAP so I can inform the Board in advance if we're not going to have a quorum.

Enjoy the long weekend!
