Bicycle Board Members,
Anyone interested in leading a
ride for the participants of the Statewide MPO conference in September? There
are 7 MPOs in the state. They make the transportation plans for the state’s
metropolitan areas. Getting them focused on cycling could have an impact
across the state. Their home base is the Hotel Morgan. County parks listed at
http://www.boparc.org/parksfacilities/index.php
that might be worth considering include:
Krepps Park
White Park
Marilla Park
Whitemoore Park and Trails
King Street Park
Jack Roberts Park
Hazel Ruby-McQuain Riverfront
Park
South University Avenue Park
Jerome Park
Caperton Trail
Deckers Creek Trail
MEA Fishing Pier
Mylan Park at Chaplin Hill
Dorsey's Knob Park featuring Sky
Rock
White Park Trails
Beer?
Let me know if you’re interested
in doing something with this. I’ll organize those interested.

Subject: MPO Conference Bike Ride
Frank,
We are now in the stages of planning the MPO Conference Bike
Ride. The ride should take place the evening of either Tuesday 9/21 or
Wednesday 9/23. My initial thought is that maybe we could have a ride to the
MPO Conference picnic tentatively scheduled the evening of the 23rd.
I have not selected a site for the picnic but I thought that a county park
would be appropriate-if they allow beer. Please let me know your thoughts
particularly on the potential location.
Thanks,
Bill Austin, AICP
