Hi all – Christiaan may have sent this to you already, but in case he didn’t, please see his message below about commenting on the draft Statewide Transportation Improvement Plan. He has included a great blurb you can easily copy and paste into the comment section. Here it is to save you from scrolling:

I submitted the following (see screenshot below of proof), feel free to do the same:

According to 2009-2011 American Commuter Survey and the NHTSA Fatality Analysis Report System, 5.4% of all traffic fatalities in WV were pedestrians and 0.3% were bicyclists (5.7% total). Yet, only 0.7% of federal transportation dollars were used for bicycle and pedestrian projects according to FHWA Fiscal Management Information System 2009-2012 data. This is the lowest percentage of any state in the US.

Thus, I ask that the WV DOT set a minimum of 5.7% of all federal funds be dedicated to bicycle and pedestrian efforts. Thank you.

Today is the last day to comment! Thanks Christiaan for this persuasive ask!

Thanks,

Christina

I have specific regional reports if you want them, or go to the bottom of the following page to look at regional reports…essentially the state:
