Frank,
Would it also be important to include the other benefits of cycling in addition to the ones you mentioned, such as:
-reduced traffic
-lessen need of motor vehicle infrastructure
-etc...
 
It may also be important to note that many cyclists drive their cars significantly less than the average motorist, but still pay the same proportion of vehicle registration, taxes, fees, and insurance that motorist who drive daily and for long distances.  So, in effect, we're actually paying for a bigger share of what we're actually using than Mr. Bolyard and other average motorists!
