I want to clarify one point, the availability of SWITCH on Netflix is unknown at this time.   What makes this event so special is that Scott Tinker, co-producer and narrator of the film, will be there in person to speak to the audience and ask questions.

Details are falling into place.  The City has given permission to allow bicycle racks to placed in the loading dock area in front of the Met, thanks to Damien for working on this.  And thanks to Traci, WVU is excited about the service, and she is checking on the availability of racks.   I will be checking with Habitat for Humanity about the equipment they use for the staging area at the Sprint, Splash 'n & Spin.   I hope by the end of Monday all the details are worked out because a plan will need to be submitted to City Engineering on how the racks will be set-up.  WVU sends out the press release on the 13th.   The photo at  http://www.sfbike.org/?valet shows the parking area surrounded which I think would be a good approach if we can locate some sort of fencing.  Incidentally, in San Francisco, valet bicycle parking at large events is required by an ordinance!  Something for Morgantown to think about.

Any help with trustworthy people who can watch people's bicycles is greatly appreciated.   This is a great opportunity to hand-out flyers, too. If necessary I will stay  outside the whole time to supervise, SWITCH  is available on Netflix.  :)

Also, I hope many BB members ride their bicycles to the event.  Free valet parking!  Priority location!!

Hi Mark,

On March 19; 6:30 pm at the Met Theatre, the WVU Festival of Ideas is presenting Switch, http://festivalofideas.wvu.edu/archive/scott-tinker - a movie at 6:30 followed by a lecture.  I would guess the valets would be needed 6-9:30.

Jonathan Rosenbaum, the current Director of Positive Spin announced at last Thursday's regular monthly Morgantown Municipal Bicycle Board meeting that Positive Spin is going to provide bicycle parking and bicycle valet service for Switch attendees that arrive on bicycles.  Some Bicycle Board members, including Traci Liebig volunteered to try to provide a bike rack.  Nobody volunteered to be valets.

I expect Jonathan Rosenbaum is the Point of Contact.  I copied him as well as some of the others that volunteered to help; as well as the whole Bicycle Board.  Jonathan's phone number is 304-599-2370.

Frank, The South Bike Club is curious! What and when is the event needing bike valets? We might very well be interested if the date and time are good. I e-mailed Traci ? who was addressed in the e-mail you forwarded, but have yet to hear from her. Mark
