A new strategy to demonstrate the value of Safe Routes to School projects is "popping-up" in communities across the country. Pop-up Safe Routes to School projects are temporary installations that show the potential that traffic safety improvements projects like crosswalks, curb extensions, and roundabouts have to make it easier, safer, and more appealing for kids to walk and bike to school.

This webinar will cover how pop-up projects can be used to advance Safe Routes to School, provide examples from communities that have used pop-up installations to make the case for Safe Routes to School, and discuss resources available to help you create a pop-up Safe Routes to School project in your own community.

Speakers:
  • Grace Kyun, Special Projects Director, Trailnet
  • Jeff Knowles, Planning Associate,  Alta Planning + Design
  • Marisa Jones, Healthy Communities Manager, Safe Routes to School National Partnership
