Subject: For Mileground Meeting-Comparison w/Patteson
Reply-To: Morgantown Pedestrian Safety Board <walkmgw@yahoo.com>

Many thanks to Damien in the City Engineer's office for information about Patteson Drive, see below and attached. 17% of City accidents on that 1.6 mile stretch of road
The Mileground could very easily become the Patteson/Chestnut Ridge corridor...4 lanes & turn lane, many access points and many conflicts.

Additionally, there were 12 pedestrian-vehicle accidents on that corridor from mid 2005 to mid 2010; that represents 13% of the 95 accidents in the City during that time frame.
Thanks to Michael Graham for putting together the map which we can reference quickly: http://www.communitywalk.com/accidents/map/942917

Is that the type of road we want...dangerous by design?
Christiaan

Damien -
Do you have a quick summary list of vehicle accidents in Morgantown? I'd like to recommend at the Mileground meeting this evening that they not turn the MG into Patteson/Chestnut Ridge Road because that is one of the most dangerous designs...but I would like to have some data.
Thanks
Christiaan
